It was almost a 3 hour drive from Norfolk, Virginia to New Bern, North Carolina that early morning. I had called ill to the institution where I functioned.
I took my sketchbook and box of attracting devices, and I was mosting likely to figure points out. If I could not figure points out, I was going to leave one outstanding graphite drawing behind with a note and never be seen once more.
That graphite drawing is the one over. It is a research study of patterns made by light and dark values on the base of a fountain in a thoroughly chopped upright structure.

The start of a long road to discovering myself
